Pain

Voltage-gated sodium channels, Nav1.1-Nav1.9, propagate action potentials in excitable cells. A number of studies, including those involving inherited pain disorders, have identified Nav1.7, Nav1.8 and Nav1.9 as key components for the transmission of pain. TetraGenetics has a number of drug discovery programs underway designed to identify antibodies that functionally inhibit Nav channels.

Additionally, TetraGenetics began a cryoEM program to determine a high-resolution structure of a non-disclosed sodium channel in the spring of 2016.
